Scalar, an art exhibition curated by Sean O'Sullivan is currently on show in Ormond Studios, Dublin until Wednesday June 30th at 5pm and is definitely worth a look!
The exhibition is a multifaceted study of cultural production within the studio context and showcases work by visual artists Joseph Noonan-Ganley, Gavin Murphy, Samuel Joseph Keogh, Jackie Gray and Matthew Slack.
There is a publication to run alongside the exhibition comprising of four critical texts which explore cultural production in the fields of friendship, awareness, gentrification and articulation.
My essay entitled 'Perception, Influence and The Others'
is one of these texts and discusses how the presence of others, particularly within a shared studio space, influences the individuals in the space to socially edit and self-censor their behaviour.
